The resistance forces acting on a passenger car during motion include rolling resistance, aerodynamic resistance, grade resistance, and acceleration resistance. For a vehicle to achieve self- propulsion, the energy delivered by the engine must correspond to the torques and power required to overcome these resistances to motion
